Your car glass

There are two types of glass commonly used in the car. Namely, Tempered and laminated, they have a level of protection is better than ordinary glass.

Laminated
2 mix 2 mm-thick glass that flanked the PVB (plyvinyl buthyral) film with a thickness of 0.76 mm. Please note, if without the PVB film, the strength of each layer was no better than ordinary glass.

PVB layer itself is a mixture-based films and plastic resins possessing sticky (adhesive). While still in the form of raw material, its physical form as a new plastic sheeting. The process of making laminated glass using pressure and heat, making PVB became clear and attach a sheet of glass on either side.

So, be careful if there is a rift on the windshield because it will spread. This is the weakness of laminated.

Tempered
Typically used on both sides and the rear glass. Strength 5 times compared with the laminated. But when it comes to cuts as deep as 1 / 6 of the thickness can be broken due to vibration and resonance in the car.

Another weakness, could not help if there is a body blow at high speed. Including preventing the passengers was thrown out.
